Premium telescopic travel rods

A better standard for telescopic fishing
The V-73 Series from Ventra Fishing is a premium 7'3" telescopic travel-rod platform. 7'3" fishing capability, telescopic portability, serious performance. First in development: the V-73 L, paired with the V-2500 reel concept.

01Built to go
Already with you when the water appears
Most fishing rods are equipment you decide to take fishing. Ventra Fishing is developing telescopic equipment compact enough to already be with you when an opportunity to fish appears.
Unexpected water. Unexpected opportunity. Collapse a capable 7'3" rod to around 40–43 cm and it no longer has to be packed for a trip — it simply travels with you.

Portability only counts because we refuse to trade performance for it. That is what built to go means here.
Built to go.
02Why telescopic
Telescopic shouldn't mean second best.
Telescopic rods have long been treated as the cheap, compromised alternative — heavy, poorly balanced, crude in action, loose in the fittings. Ventra Fishing is developing the V-73 platform to challenge that assumption.
We are not trying to make a telescopic rod that is good enough for travelling. We are trying to develop a genuinely good fishing rod that also happens to collapse small enough to travel almost anywhere.
03The range
Rods and reels
The first Ventra Fishing system is the telescopic V-73 L matched to the V-2500. Two pieces of tackle developed together, nothing added for the sake of a catalogue.
The V-73 telescopic platform is being engineered to support additional power configurations in future.

04First in development
V-73 L
Light power on the 7'3" telescopic platform: approx. 2.21 m extended, a collapsed target of no more than 43 cm, a 5–25 g lure rating and a fast/progressive-fast action.
Every guide is bonded and aligned by hand, then the blank is loaded and checked before it moves forward. These remain engineering targets rather than final production specifications.

05The reel concept
V-2500
A 2500-size concept with a sealed drag stack and a machined spool, sized and balanced to sit level on the V-73 L at the seat.
Rod and reel are being developed together so the system stays neutral in the hand across a full day, from hill loch to coastal mark. The V-2500 is a concept, not an available product.
06Construction
Telescopic engineering, up close
Macro studies from the development bench: section interfaces, carbon wall, guide alignment and hardware. These show materials and engineering intent — not the final assembled product.

01Carbon
High-modulus carbon laid to a thin wall with a reinforced spigot at every joint.

02Guides
Single-leg guides bonded and aligned by hand, sized down through the tip.

03Seat
Machined seat with a knurled locking nut that holds under load and salt.

04Spool
Machined spool with a sealed drag stack — no wash-in, no fade mid-session.

05Grip
Textured grip with an anodised ring, balanced to the reel at the seat.

06Butt cap
Machined cap carrying the mark, sized to sit flush against a pack.

Built for freedom
Fish where the road stops
Alpine lakes, coastal marks, a river you found on a map. If it fits in a pack, it comes with you — and that is the whole point of the platform.
